Case called. Learned counsel for the complainant, along with the ADPP and learned defence counsel, is present; however, none of the prosecution witnesses has appeared despite the fact that innumerable opportunities have already been provided. It is evident from the record that on almost every date of hearing since February 2026, adjournments have been sought on behalf of the complainant. Today again, an associate of learned counsel for the complainant has moved an application for adjournment on the ground that the complainant could not appear due to a flight delay. On the other hand, learned counsel for the accused has strongly opposed the grant of any further adjournment. The record further reflects that on 09.03.2026, a cost of Rs. 5,000/- was imposed upon the complainant for causing unnecessary delay and vexation to the accused on each date of hearing; however, the said cost has not yet been deposited with the Nazir of this Court. Notwithstanding the same, another request for adjournment has been made, along with a verbal request for a final opportunity, contending that the delay occurred due to unavoidable flight-related disruptions, as the complainant is an Air Hostess.In the circumstances, an adjournment is granted as a last opportunity, subject to imposition of further cost of Rs. 5,000/-. The complainant is directed to deposit the cumulative cost with the Nazir of this Court, which shall be payable to the accused.
